Para los que recordarán, GitHub, el servicio de gestor para la plataforma Git ha tenido uno de sus puntos bajo luego del escandalo de sexismo que una conocida programadora ha tirado al medio y en seguimiento de la situación se tiene más claridad a quien iba el dedo acusador.
Recordarán que Julie Ann Horvath, conocida programadora, dio a conocer que hace dos años y desde entonces ha vivido una colección de eventos y reclama que el ambiente de trabajo en GitHub es hostil, máxime que en GitHub están ahora contratando más mujeres y simplemente eso ha sido el detonante para continuar las malas situaciones que han incluido acoso laboral.
Ahora en un seguimiento y revelando detalles de que pudo haber ocurrido, el CEO de GitHub Chris Wanstrath ha confirmado que su amigo y co-fundador Tom Preston-Werner y su esposa han renunciado a GitHub.
Results of the GitHub Investigation
Last month, a number of allegations were made against GitHub and some of its employees, including one of its co-founders, Tom Preston-Werner. We took these claims seriously and launched a full, independent, third-party investigation.
The investigation found no evidence to support the claims against Tom and his wife of sexual or gender-based harassment or retaliation, or of a sexist or hostile work environment. However, while there may have been no legal wrongdoing, the investigator did find evidence of mistakes and errors of judgment. In light of these findings, Tom has submitted his resignation, which the company has accepted. Tom has been a huge part of this company from the very beginning and we appreciate all that he has done for GitHub. We wish him the best in his next endeavour.
As to the remaining allegations, the investigation found no evidence of gender-based discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or abuse.
We want to create a great place to work for all our employees and we can’t do that without acknowledging the challenges that exist in providing an inclusive work environment. We are implementing a number of new HR and employee-led initiatives as well as training opportunities to make sure employee concerns and conflicts are taken seriously and dealt with appropriately. We know we still have work to do.

Aunque la pasada entrada confirma que según la investigación independiente no confirma nada ilegal, si confirma que GitHub necesita erradicar errors de como adminsitra el área de recursos humanos los cuales ya se sabe que GitHub estará reformando su departamento de recursos humanos, mientras que Preston-Werner renunció no afirmando o aceptando haber ocurrido situaciones pero quiere evitar que este escandalo distraiga y arruine la reputación que tiene GitHub.
Según se desprende, la esposa de Preston-Werner, llegó al punto de hostigar a Horvath, inclusive de perseguirla dentro de las mismas oficinas de GitHub y el mismo Preston-Werner es un conocido sexista.
