La comunidad de Linux esta nuevamente al rojo vivo y no es una crisis existencial, pero el emblemático creador del kernel de Linux, Linus Torvalds, utilizó nuevamente el mailing list de la comunidad de desarrollo del kernel para públicamente dar un ultimátum a los que reclaman que cierta función de Linux debe ser arreglada por el mismo creador de tanto la función como el problema.

Key, I’m f*cking tired of the fact that you don’t fix problems in the
code *you* write, so that the kernel then has to work around the

Y el pasado mensaje del Mailing List del kernel de Linux estaba dirigido a Kay Sievers, creador del daemon llamado systemd que se utiliza para empezar los procesos del sistema operativo cuando una computadora o un equipo se encienden y aunque como tal ha sido “adoptado”, systemd nunca fue de la autoría de Linus.
La queja de Torvalds es que está cansado de escuchar que la comunidad espera que sea el mismo Linus que resuelva un error que hace que el log de los servicios del sistema crea entradas masivamente provocando fallas durante el boot de una computadora y aun así ya hay colaboradores con teorías claras de cómo resolver el problema, Linus está claro que es el mismo Sievers quien TIENE que arreglar el problema.
Linus ha sido claro que a Sievers no se le aceptará más “contribuciones” ni códigos hasta que este problema sea resuelto aunque algunos miembros de la comunidad reportaron que el problema había sido resuelto mientras, Sievers respondió mediante Google+:
my last kernel patch is more than a year old, my last non-trivial kernel patch 2 years old. i stopped working on the upstream kernel “long ago” for reasons i cannot stand the attitude of these guys, i decided to work with grown up or funny, or grown up and funny people instead and i enjoy it a lot more. not sure what this childish blackmail attempt relates to.
No es la primera y evidentemente tampoco la última vez que Linus Torvalds sea vocal en torno a lo que tenga que ver con Linux y recientes victimas de Linus han incluido a Nvdia y a openSUSE respectivamente con su pobre soporte de GPU para Linux y la exagerada seguridad que openSUS tiene incluido que documentamos hace algún tiempo.
