No duró mucho la controversia generada por un simple error de redacción de resume del ex Paypal, Scott Thompson y ese “minúsculo” error ya le costó su cabeza en Yahoo.
Mencionamos que la firma Third Point LLC, una compañía accionista de Yahoo, había acusado a Scott Thompson de haber puesto que se había graduado de Ciencias de Computadoras sin en realidad haber tenido el título realmente y solo limitarse a una clase introductoria y solicitaban la expulsión de Thompson como CEO de Yahoo.
Pues no bien ya ha empezado la semana y parece que Scott Thompson cedió a las presiones posiblemente internas, luego que ha hecho terrible trabajo manejando este asunto, acusando a otra firma de meramente hacer esto en mala fe, pues el error se debió a que se agregó su resume en los días que empezó en eBay, pero el tiro le salió por la culata, pues la no mencionada firma ofreció dar evidencia a Yahoo que en efecto Thompson ya tenía la mala maña de cargar su resume con partes que no le corresponden.

No se espera que de haber una declaración de Thompson admita que renunció por esto sino por “razones personales” y definitivo esto eclipsará sus logros con Paypal. Adicional, muchas personas dentro de Yahoo abiertamente habían dejado de confiar y apoyar a Thompson desde que se destapó esta controversia.
Sin mencionar que esto ocurre en el peor momento de Yahoo puesto a que la empresa busca de las 1,000 y una maneras de volver a ser competitiva en comparación con Google y todavía hay personas involucradas en Yahoo que siente el mal sabor de que no se pudiera llegar acuerdos con Microsoft en los primeros días que surgieron rumores de posibles acuerdos entre ambas empresas y adicional su ahora batalla en contra de Facebook para que la red social de Mark Zuckerberg responda si violó o no patentes de Yahoo.
