Los envíos y ventas del iPad durante el Q2 del 2012 ha marcado un nuevo record para Apple teniendo así un quarter mucho mejor de lo anticipado, esto de acuerdo a IDC.
Total worldwide tablet shipments for the second quarter of 2012 (2Q12) are estimated at 25 million units; up from 18.7 in the first quarter of 2012. That represents a quarter-over-quarter increase of 33.6% and a robust year-over-year growth rate of 66.2%, up from 15 million units in the second quarter of 2011.
El total de iPad enviados durante el 2do quarter del 2012 fueron 25 millones de unidades, un 18.7% más que el primer quarter lo cuál representa un aumento de quarter a quarter de 33.6% y un crecimiento de año a año de 66.2% arriba 15 millones de unidades en el 2do quarter del 2011.
Mientras Apple tiene una gran parte del mercado dominado, dos terceras partes (2/3) del mismo, la ASUS de Samsung esta viendo un crecimiento bien notable también.
Samsung experienced exceptional growth, and landed in second place with 2.4 million units shipped, up from 1.1 million units a year ago. Amazon rebounded from a sluggish first quarter to post shipments of 1.2 million units (the company, which ships its Fire tablet only in the U.S., entered the market in 4Q11). ASUS shipped 855,454 units, well above its total of 397,048 units a year ago. Finally, only fifth-placed Acer saw its year-over-year numbers decline, as it shipped 385,458 units this quarter, down from 629,222 units a year ago. It’s worth noting that shipments of the well-received Google/ASUS co-branded Nexus 7 aren’t reflected in these totals, as that product officially began shipping into the channel in the third quarter of 2012.
Samsung ha experimentado un crecimiento excepcional y alcanzó el 2do lugar con 2.4 millones de unidades enviadas, a un año atrás el número fue 1.1 millones. La ASUS envió 385,458 unidades en este reciente quarter, abajo cuando hace un año tuvo 629,222 unidades. ASUS, ahora Nexus 7 no se refleja en estos totales ya que el mismo se comenzó a enviar a comienzos del 3er quarter 2012.
IDC reporta que la competencia de las tablets podría ponerse más fuerte con la Microsoft Surface en la segunda mitad del 2012.
