Según la información provista por AppleInsider, Apple podría estar distribuyendo su próximo sistema operativo OS X Lion a través del Mac App Store.
The Mac App Store, available to all users running the most recent version of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, will become the de facto method for obtaining the Lion upgrade, people familiar with the matter have revealed. Users will be able to upgrade instantly without the need for physical media by purchasing Lion through the Mac App Store.
Apple esta pensando también crear CD o USB Keys para aquellos que no tienen una conexión a internet tan buena como para descargar el sistema operativo desde ahí. De todos modos asumimos que la versión UPGRADE seria la que se vendería a través del Mac App Store. El único beneficio de este es que reduciría sin duda el costo del mismo ya que Apple no tiene que hacer empaques, envíos ni mucho menos gastar en producción masiva.
